As we continue to mourn the sudden and heartbreaking loss of our beloved Placement Coordinator, Chad Graybill, we find comfort in carrying forward his legacy. Chad was a cornerstone of the Grant Career Center family for over two decades—a dedicated carpentry instructor, passionate placement coordinator, and above all, a mentor who deeply believed in the power of skilled trades to transform lives.
Now in its second year, the Chad Graybill Memorial Tool Scholarship continues to honor Chad’s life and mission by supporting students entering the trades. This scholarship provides financial assistance to help students purchase essential tools and equipment as they begin their careers—a cause close to Chad’s heart.
Each year, the scholarship is awarded to four placement students who best exemplify the qualities Chad valued most: strong work ethic, integrity, perseverance, employability, and excellent attendance. These are the traits Chad not only encouraged in his students, but also lived out every single day.
We are proud to announce the 2025 recipients:
Bryce Baker, Construction
Griffin Davis, Construction
Mary Johnson, Veterinary Science (also supported by the Gary Broadwell Scholarship)
Molly Wilson, Cosmetology (more tools on the way)
Bryce and Griffin have demonstrated outstanding dedication and a passion for their craft. Mary’s compassion and drive to succeed in veterinary science, supported by both the Chad Graybill Memorial and Gary Broadwell Scholarships, showcases her potential in the animal care field. Molly Wilson’s excellence in cosmetology and her professional readiness reflect the same character traits Chad worked so hard to cultivate in all of our students.
These recipients embody the legacy Chad left behind: students prepared not only with technical skills, but with the mindset and character to thrive.
Chad’s impact is still felt deeply in the halls of Grant Career Center. His warm smile, unwavering encouragement, and commitment to helping every student succeed will never be forgotten.
